About The Resilience Collaborative
Bridging gaps. Nurturing hope. Fostering Resilience. The mission of The Resilience Collaborative is to create clarity, dissolve boundaries, and address gaps in the network of people who foster a foundation of resilience and hope for young children in Snohomish County.
Get Involved!
Resilience grows when communities come together. Whether you’re a parent, caregiver, educator, healthcare provider, community leader, or simply someone who cares about children and families, you have a role to play. We invite you to connect with us.
Why We’re Here
In Snohomish County, there are many caring people and organizations working to help children and families who have experienced trauma. But sometimes, the way our systems work makes it harder than it should be to get the right help at the right time.
Accurate information about local resources can be hard to find, and policies that are meant to protect children can sometimes create barriers. Different organizations often work separately, and a shared understanding of what it really means to be “trauma-informed” or how resilience is fostered is often missing from collaborative efforts.
The Resilience Collaborative exists to bring clarity, improve access to resources, raise awareness of available supports, and encourage collaboration across the community. By working together, we can make sure every child has the relationships and environments they need to heal, grow, and thrive.
What We Do
We take a holistic approach, recognizing that resilience is shaped over time by relationships, environments, and systems that support the whole child and family. While we emphasize the importance of early experiences, our work is not limited to them. Resilience continues to grow through connection, care, and opportunity at every stage of life.
Everything we do is shaped by four simple strategies:
Clarity
Making complex information easy to understand using standardized terms and definitions enhances collaboration. Our goal is to provide clear language and curated information to reduce confusion. This helps ensure that parents & guardians, educators, healthcare professionals, community members, and other partners can take coordinated action to build resilience in young children.
Access
Imagine a world where expertise and support in resilience, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), and trauma informed care are as easy to find as your favorite song on a streaming platform. We’re dedicated to making this vision a reality by ensuring that those who seek support can find it readily. Let’s bridge the gap between needs and resources.
Awareness
Snohomish County is brimming with resources and natural leaders who have the power to uplift us all.
By shining a spotlight on the incredible work they do, we not only celebrate our community’s strengths, but also raise awareness of local expertise and services.
Collaboration
At the heart of our work is a belief in the power of collaboration. We’re not just talking about occasional meetings or superficial agreements—we’re committed to building a foundation and system for collaboration that runs deep. Our approach is rooted in transparency, trust, and cross-sector engagement.
How We’re Taking Action
To put our mission into practice, we’re currently focused on a few key priorities:
-
Profiling local programs and organizations that are building resilience in young children, so their work is visible and celebrated.
-
Expanding access to resources for families by partnering with WithinReach to grow the Help Me Grow resource directory for Snohomish County.
-
Hosting educational events that bring together parents, educators, health care providers, and community leaders to create shared understanding and common goals.
By working across sectors—healthcare, education, community services, and peer support—we help create environments where families can thrive. When children and youth feel safe, seen, and supported, they develop the resilience, confidence, and skills they need to face the future with hope.
We acknowledge the original inhabitants of this area, the Snohomish people, and their successors, the Tulalip Tribes. Since time immemorial, they have hunted, fished, gathered, and taken care of these lands. We respect their sovereignty, their right to self-determination, and honor their sacred spiritual connection with the land and water. We will strive to be honest about our past mistakes and bring about a future that includes their people, stories, and voices to form a more just and equitable society.
